GCA Parents, Teachers, and Students,

I am Michelle Gilyard, President of the Georgia Cyber Academy Parent Teacher Student Organization.  Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year.  As your PTSO President I look forward to providing avenues of communication, offering volunteer opportunities and fundraising events which assist with school related programs and projects.  I also look forward to continuing the PTSO’s mission of supporting and enhancing the educational experience for all children attending GCA.

PTSO stands for Parent, Teacher, Student Organization; this means we all work together as a team for a common goal. Each of these elements combine to create an enriching environment for us all. It takes parents, teachers, and students working together for the PTSO to function, but we want more than function, we want our students and families to flourish!

We have many wonderful activities planned for the 2017-2018 school year. A few items to keep an eye out for include the Coach Café, our learning coach to learning coach help sessions, The Weekly Juice, our weekly student-led newsletters by our junior journalist at GCA, and Fuel Up to Play 60, a better health initiative sponsored by the NFL.  You will receive monthly updates of new programs. activities, and initiatives via the “Peach Pit” our PTSO monthly newsletter. The GCA PTSO website is also an excellent resource for all things related to our mission of support and enhancement for all children attending GCA.
